M430 UAS Dropped Munition
The M430 High Explosive Dual Purpose 40mm Grenade is a conventional ordnance item that has been adapted for use as an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) dropped munition. The grenade has been modified by partially disassembling the munition, manually arming the fuze, and reassembling the grenade. A molded tail assembly has been added to ensure that the munition falls in a nose-down attitude after release from a UAS.
The M430 UAS dropped munition is best employed to engage personnel, armored vehicles, unarmored vehicles, structures, and critical infrastructure.
